Innovation Clusters

ID Manchester 

ID Manchester is a new £1.5 billion innovation district in Manchester city centre developed by the University of Manchester and Bruntwood SciTech. It will provide 2.6 million sq ft of commercial workspace for innovation-led businesses. 

Atom Valley 

A Mayoral Development Zone will help drive this transformational new development, which could support 1.6 million sq m of employment space and 20,000 high-quality jobs. Atom Valley will become a new hub for innovation in advanced materials, manufacturing and green technologies. 

Crescent Salford 

A £2.5 billion regeneration led by Salford City Council, the University of Salford and English Cities Fund. Cresent Salford will become a new innovation cluster supporting applied research, innovation and technology to help people live better and smarter. 

Oxford Road Corridor 

The Oxford Road Corridor is Manchester’s innovation district with a unique concentration of knowledge, business and cultural assets. Within one square mile there are two of the UK’s largest universities, a university NHS foundation trust, and a large cluster of digital, technology and life science businesses.

Town Centre Innovation Zones 

Town Centre Innovation Zones will bring together innovative businesses in all of Greater Manchester’s town centres. These clusters will concentrate on sector-specific expertise and entrepreneurship to maximise the regenerative impact of business growth for all Greater Manchester residents. 

Other Growth Locations

Greater Manchester has earmarked additional growth locations which represent opportunities to drive change at scale across the whole city-region. This includes generating innovation through increased R&D activity along with the creation of good quality jobs and new homes.
